Anambra State is the 4th industrialized state in Nigeria. Hence, there's an urgent need to close this energy gap so as to improve the economic growth of our dear state.
According to the Center for climate and energy solutions, renewable energy is the fastest-growing energy source the world over. In 2018, renewable energy constituted 26.2 percent of global electricity generation. It's expected to rise to 45 percent by 2040. Most of the increase will likely come from solar, wind and hydropower.
Dr. Godwin Maduka stated that if given the opportunity to serve, he would give the renewable energy systems utmost priority. This he intends to achieve by creating awareness of renewable energy efficiency, establishing a testing laboratory for renewable energy technologies, entering into global partnerships and bringing foreign investors into the energy sector.
Anambra State is blessed with a large amount of renewable natural resources, which when fully developed and utilized will lead to poverty reduction and sustainable development. Renewable energy resources and technologies are key components of sustainable development.
