Department Of Petroleum Resources Seal Up Filling Stations In Imo State For Increasing Fuel Price

The Department of Petroleum Resources has sealed up some filling stations in Imo for selling above approved price.

According to the Zonal Controller, Roseline Wikki said the sealed filling stations soled Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as petrol above the authorized pump price.

She mentioned that she and her team were carrying out the exercise to ensure that stations sell quality products, no hoarding and to ensure that the product is made available to customers.

Roseline also added that they are carrying out a routine check to ensure no filling station sells above government approved pump price.

“We will definitely sanction those that are not selling within the (government approved) pump price and for the adulteration; we will make sure that they (consumers) get the right product.” she said.

She also urged residents to pay no attention to the rumour that fuel price has increased, and that if they see or buy fuel above the approved price, they should report to authorities.

“Right from the depot, we are going to do carriages inspection and ensure that products that are being loaded are within the correct spec. she added.
