A total sum of $153 million cash and about 80 luxurious houses worth of $80 million have been reportedly recovered from the former Petroleum Resources Minister , Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke , under the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan's Government.
This report was disclosed by the Chairman of the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) , Abdulrasheed Bawa on the EFCC monthly e-magazine of the April's edition.
According to Daily Times , the EFCC Boss said " There are several cases surrounding Diezani:s case . I was part of that investigation , and we have done quite a lot . In one of the cases ,we recovered$153 million , we have secured the final forfeiture of over 80 properties in Nigeria valued at about $80 million . We have done quite a bit on that .*
Mrs Alison-Madueke has since 2015 relocated to United Kingdom where she has been on self-exile . All efforts made by the present Federal Government of Nigeria to repatriate her for trial have proved abortive.
