According to a report by the Vanguard News, the Centenary City is currently under construction in the federal capital territory of Abuja. The Vanguard News also reports that this new city is to be constructed with a total budget of 18.5 billion United States Dollars.
The same source also reports that this new city is being built on 1,262 hectares of land in the city of Abuja. The Daily Trust and the Premium Times report that the construction of this new city started in 2014 under the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan.
