Lagos State is set to become the next crypto capital as the state governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced bold proposals for crypto adoption in Lagos, a bustling commercial hub in Nigeria, with a vibrant tech ecosystem and a large population of young, tech-savvy individuals.
The announcement is a significant shift in the political landscape of Nigeria, where cryptocurrency has long been a controversial topic, despite the fact that Cryptocurrencies have gained significant traction in the state over the years, with a growing number of individuals and businesses adopting it as a means of payment and investment.

Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has empowered women including widows as part of activities to commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD).
The theme of the 2023 IWD is “Digital innovation and technology for gender equality”.
The permanent secretary, Dr Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, in his keynote address during the occasion in Abuja yesterday said the theme aligned with the theme for the upcoming 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW-67).
Labour Party sets up steering committee to head Rivers chapter

The National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) Julius Abure has set up a three – member steering committee to oversee the Rivers chapter of the party for one month.
The party announced this in a statement signed by its chairman on Thursday in Abuja.
The Steering Committee is headed by Hilda Dokubo; Pastor Philip Nyechi Loveday as Secretary, and Mr Gogo Wellington as Publicity Secretary.
APC National Welfare Officer reportedly dead

The National Welfare Officer and member of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Barrister Friday Nwosu is reportedly dead.
A member of the NWC, who spoke in confidence, confirmed his death.
He was said to have died on Thursday in an Abuja Hospital after a brief illness.
It was gathered that Nwosu, who was discharged on Wednesday from the same hospital for an undisclosed ailment, went back on Thursday for a routine check-up before he passed on.
The former Abia governorship candidate under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was elected to the ruling APC NWC at the June 2022 National Convention of the party.
