The Man Behind LAPO Micro Finance Bank

His name is Dr. Godwin Eseiwi Ehigiamusoe. He is an accomplished social entrepreneur and a formost microfinance practioner.

He is the CEO, LAPO microfinance a company with thousands of staff and offices across Africa. His business interest span microfinance, micro-insurance, agriculture, micro-leasing, healthcare and education.

Dr. Ehigiamusoe earned his 1st and 2nd degrees in Sociology and Sociology of Development respectively from the University of Benin. He holds a Doctorate degree in Policy and Development studies with distinction in dissertion on Policy instruments and Financial inclusion.

LAPO (Lift Above Poverty Organization) was established in 1987. In 2006, he led LAPO to win the prestigious Grameen Foundations Award for Excellence in Microfinance. He won the Nigeria's model Entrepreneur in 2008. Africa 2010 awards for Foundation Outstanding Social Entreprenuer. In 2014, Dr Ehigiamusoe won the Lagos Business School distinguished Alumni Award. And it goes on like that till present.

He is married to Mrs. Ngozi Ehigiamusoe and they are blessed with five children.

Today LAPO is enabling millions of people through loans to achieve their goals.
