Earlier today, it was confirmed by The PUNCH that commercial banks have now reconnected MTN subscribers/users to all existing banking channels, hours after the network was initially disconnected.
Recall that about two days ago, all MTN users across the country were reportedly removed from all banking channels, including service data.
Some MTN users took to their various social media handles to lay their complaints, stating they were unable to recharge airtime.
However, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami, said that he would look into the issue.
Earlier today, PUNCH news reported that MTN has currently been reconnected to all banking channels, which means that all MTN users will now be able to access banking channels, data services, and also recharge airtime.
It was reported that the blockade happened when MTN reduced its bank's commission from 3.5 percent to 2.5 percent. In retaliation, all commercial banks, aside from Zenith bank, blocked the telecom.
According to PUNCH, the reconnection was made possible through the intervention of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
