During an interview with Channels, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President Joe Ajaero said, "There Is No Need To Take A Loan For Fuel Subsidy Unless They Are Not Telling Us Everything". Why are we still talking about subsidies or no subsidies? Who said there is a need for subsidies?
When asked if he feels like there is an under handing that Nigerians do not know about, his statement reads, "If it could take one, two, or three months for us to convert to CNG, then there is an alternative." If there is an alternative if we convert to CNG, then why are we talking about subsidy? Who will be importing when there is an alternative on the ground?
According to him, "Why can't we think outside the box? Why can't we look at the alternatives that are available to us, including the repair of the main refinery and what is supposed to be produced by the Dangote refinery?" And people are singing about subsidy, which is no longer an issue; let them take this option, and the issue of taking loans is not with our support. Nobody can say they are taking loans when there are better options available to us, unless there is something we don't know about this.
