According to a news report by the Daily Trust, the AGF also revealed how hundreds of millions were allegedly pumped into the account of the secessionist leader.
The announcement was made on the 22nd of October, 2021 at a press conference in Abuja. The AGF in the press Conference, disclosed how Sunday Igboho got millions from 43 accounts registered with 9 banks.
The AGF stated that a report which was recently acquired by the Federal government showed that Igboho was a Director and signatory to Adesun International Concept Limited registered on 23rd April, 2010.
He stated that the major financer of the secessionist leader was a federal lawmaker in the National Assembly.
The AGF revealed that a total sum of one hundred and twenty-seven million, one forty-five thousand naira only (N127,145,000.00) was acquired by Igboho from his sponsors between 22nd October, 2013 and 28th September, 2020 through the accounts of his company, Adesun International Concept Ltd.
The AGF also revealed that a sum of two hundred and seventy-three million, one hundred and ninety-eight thousand, two hundred naira (N273,198,200.00) transaction outflows was discovered from Sunday Igboho’s account between 15th March, 2013 and 11 the March, 2021.
The AGF stated that his company had transferred twelve million seven hundred and fifty thousand naira to Abbal Bako and Sons.
He stated that a link between separatists' agitations and Terrorism were found because the promoter of Abbal Bako and sons, Abdullahi Umar Usman is a suspect in the on-going Joint Terrorist Financing Investigation.
Umar Usman, according to the AGF had financial links to Surajo Abubakar Muhammad who was given a life sentence in the UAE for financing Boko Haram terrorism.
Sunday Igboho is still being held by security forces in Benin Republic since his arrest in July. His lawyer has recently stated that the Yoruba Nation leader 'who is apolitical' has not asked any politician to beg the presidency on his behalf.
He stated that his client would not do so, however, he respects the six elected governors of the south-west states as authentic representatives of his Yoruba race.
