It has been reported that she drops out of 2021 Forbes list of Billionaire. According to the report, this has not been the first time that she is dropping off the list as analysts explain that it as a result of slump in oil prices because Alakija's business concern is mainly in oil exploration ecosystem.
Recall that she made the Forbes list of world billionaires and was ranked 1941 in a list of 2,153 billionaires in 2019 with a net worth of $1.1 billion. She dropped off the global billionaires’ forbe's list in 2020, although she still emerged as 20th richest African billionaire in 2020.
Forbes reveals that her worth dropped below $1 billion due to lower oil prices because she is mainly into oil exploration.
However, Nigeria now has only three billionaires on the 2021 Forbes list of world billionaires, with the dropping of Folorunso Alakija. Dangote retained the top spot of Africa’s richest person with a net worth of $11.5 billion.
