On the 12th day of April 2021, the Executive Chairman of Ebonyi Local Government Area hosted an enlarged security meeting of the council for the week to brainstorm on the possible measures to adopt in preventing insecurity within our locality.
The meeting was attended by prominent sons and daughters of the council such as the Hon. Commissioner for Capital territory development, Hon. Commissioner for culture and tourism, SSAs, SAs, EBHA members, traditional rulers, town union presidents, village heads and many other stakeholders who commended the efforts of the State and Local Government Area for their love for peace.
Speaking during the meeting, HRH Eze S. N Oketa applauded the Executive Chairman Hon. Chief Mrs. Chinyere Nwogbaga for her commitment to ensuring that people enjoy relative peace in the area and charged all Ebonyians to be law abiding while we report all strange and suspected movements to security agencies.
This was corroborated by Hon. Commissioner for capital territory development and his culture counterpart while stressing on SEE SOMETHING SAY SOMETHING as very important in security business.
The Executive Chairman while addressing the people charged them to constitute village and community vigilantes who will help the central committee to achieve results.
She equally applauded the traditional rulers, town union presidents, village heads and our security chiefs for their efforts so far while calling on them to be more committed.
High point of the meeting was the arrival and admonition of the Hon. Commissioner for Internal Security, Ebonyi State.
