
Governmentof Benue State Through The ministry of Housing And Urban Development Signed An MoU to Erase Housing Deficit In The State
Benue state ministry of housing and urban Development headed by the honourable commissioner, chief Dennis Ekpe Ogbu JP, KSM (ogakuwe k' Idoma) on behalf of the state government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with habitat for African initiative to commence work on building affordable housing units for Benue indigenes. The idea is to ease the problem of housing deficit in the state. Both parties put pen to paper in other to commence work on the people oriented project.
On June 30, 2020, a group of developers from habitat for African initiative paid a courtesy called on the ministry to propose a partnership with the state government in order to build affordable housing units of five hundred units of two bedrooms and three bedrooms each in the state. The chairman of habitat for African initiative, Ambassador James ugah who signed the MoU on behalf of the non Governmental organizatiSaid they are in partnership with the state.
Government giving the commitment of the state governor, Samuel Ortom, to provide affordable housing for the people. With signing of this MoU, the Machinery has been put in motion for immediate commencement of work. Construction of the such housing units in the state would go a long way in an effort to meet the housing need of Benue people
Present at the singing were honourable commissioner of housing and urban Development. Chief Dennis Ekpe ogbo KSM, Honorable commissioner of justice, Benue state ministry of justice and attorney general of the state, Mike Gusa, Chairman of habitat for African initiative Amb. James ugah and his team, the permanent secretary ministry of housing and urban Development, Mr Angwa Makurdi, Director of urban planning and development in the ministry of housing and urban development Mrs Linda Adoration Dashit and a host of others.
