If you own a bank account and you make use of Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) transactions, then this announcement from the Central Bank of Nigeria is good news for you. CBN has introduced new charges for every Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) transaction performed.
The new charges would be effective from today March 16 2021. According to the Apex bank, all Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) transactions would be charged a flat rate of N6.8 per transaction. Some banks previously charged as high as #20 for a single USSD transfer.
This was made known to the public by the Acting Director of Corporate Communications Osita Nwanisobi.
