Federal ministry of education yesterday after a brief meeting with its officials released press statement advising Nigerian university students and undergraduates, who are speculating to resume on 18 January, 2021 on what they should do before resumption, due to spike in Covid-19 pandemic.
The Director, Press and Public Relations Mr. Ben Goong, stated that it is advisable for all students to undergo medical test, temperature check and properly ensure wellness before leaving their respective homes for campus.
He said " Coronavirus symptoms can be similar to some common sicknesses that affects our livelihood most times, and when we exhibit those signs around the learning environment, it raises negative speculations among us expecially in this particular period.
In order to avoid irregularities, before 18 January, we advice every scholar to run a test and check Malaria, Typhoid, Sugar level and make sure they properly treat them, while appropriate authorities ensure full compliance with Covid-19 protocols.
The meeting however insisted on the compulsory wearing of facemasks by all students, lecturers and workers within the school premises.
