School resumption update: FG releases their final statement about school resumption

Recall that Federal Government ordered the closure of schools. This is to stop the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. Many Nigerians who are eager to study have been Lamenting about over staying at home. A good example of these people are University students. University students have been on strike for over 10 months after which the strike was called off but unfortunately FG ordered another Lockdown due to the second wave of COVID-19 Pandemic. Some days later FG lifted the Lockdown fixing 18th January as a resumption date for schools in Nigeria. After this, there were lots of debating weather school will still open on the fixed day, many people rumored that the resumption date have been postponed. Today FG cleared Nigerians about the ongoing confusions.

Earlier Today President Buhari's administration made an official announcement to Nigerians via Mr. Ben Goong, director, press and public relations of the Ministry. In their statement they made it known to Nigerians that the resumption date for schools is still on 18th of January. This information was disclosed by President Buhari's aide, Bashir Ahmad via his official verified Twitter page.

In his words he said "SCHOOL RESUMPTION

The Federal Ministry of Education says the January 18th, 2021 resumption date for schools stands. A statement from Mr. Ben Goong, director, press and public relations of the Ministry stated the decision not to alter the date was taken after wide consultation."
