Just Like Amotekun Scenario, Southwest Governors Go Against Federal Govt On WAEC Matters

Just like what happened in the past, when south western Governors, wanted to establish a regional security outfit known as Amotekun, against Federal Government policy of not supporting regional policing. With the capacity of governors they have on ground, they were able to overcome Federal Government through dialogue and establish Amotekun.

The same scenario is playing out again, as Federal Government has postponed the writing of WAEC indefinitely, due to corona virus Outbreak. The south western Governors again knowing the implication of not sitting for west African examination Council exit exams (WAEC) by students, are preparing to go against the Federal Government policy as they make ready to face Federal Government once again to dialogue issues pertaining to WAEC.

During Amotekun establishment by southwestern Governors, it was a difficult nut to crack, as the Federal Government initially refused, but with dialogue it was easy for the Governors to achieve their target.

This time again, I believe that everything is possible, as they face Federal Government to dialogue issues on WAEC matters. With the capacity of people they have on ground, they will be able to soften the mind of Federal Government, to support their bid in reopening of schools for SS3 students to write their WAEC and lift the ban on schools resumption.

Students should not lose hope, they should prepare themselves for WAEC, because education is the right of every child in Nigeria and the exit examination which is WAEC, is equally the right of every child that wants to exit from secondary school. If not for corona virus, there is no policy, that should stop any child, who is exiting from secondary school, from sitting for his WAEC.
