A lot of candidates have lost hope already because of their low Jamb score. Some of their parents are already threatening to disown them because this is their 5th year sitting at home.
These can be depressing I tell you. But there is one thing we all need to Know, some of us are really the cause of our problem. Yes, because we tend to make the wrong choice when selecting a course or a school.
We are in a country were politics rules. We have to stop comparing ourselves to other countries where they give you admission According to your score and not connection, where there are enough schools for all their students and not where there are over a million university candidates with only 40% entry space.
To avoid being a continuous jamb candidate I advice that you rethink and make a better choice today before schools starts to fix their post utme. Stop focusing on schools with big names and try to focus on your dream of being a graduate. No one will care about your almamater in the future. The only thing they would want to see is your qualifications in your area of study.
Let me explain how admissions in populated school work; in every school there is a particular number of students they cannot exceed.
Let's use Unilag for instance, if they are only allowed to take in 20,000 students into their school per session and of course we all know how a lot of people wants to attend the great university of Lagos. Now after all exams are done, they had a total of 100,000 candidates. Remember they can only take 20,000. Of course, this is Nigeria, let's say 1000 students have rich families and connection with the school, now we are left with just 19,000. After taking 19,000 out of hundred thousand, a total of 81,000 students are left out including those that meritted the admission.
Why is this so, because everyone is running to the most popular schools forgetting the less popular one which still offer the same or even more qualification than the famous ones.
So back to my headline for candidates with less than 200, you don't have to worry here are list of schools you can still pick from with a 90% chance of getting admitted.
