Reinstated UNILAG VC Ogundipe resumes

The UNILAG's Governing Council, headed by Babalakin had taken out Ogundipe at its gathering in Abuja on August 12, over charges of infractions and gross offense. 

The board, nonetheless, selected Prof. Theophilus Omololu Soyombo of the Faculty of Social Sciences as the Acting Vice-Chancellor.

On Wednesday, Buhari endorsed the restoration of Ogundipe, saying his expulsion by the Governing Council didn't follow due process.This was as the Academic Staff Union of Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities, UNILAG Branch, commended the choice of the President to reestablish Ogundipe.

Likewise, the Chairman, NASU, UNILAG branch, Kehinde Ajibade, stated, "It is a decent turn of events; the VC has been vindicated and most of individuals from staff are glad to invite him back.The board worked superbly. I exhort the VC to put greater need on staff government assistance and accommodate some abused individuals from staff."
