Recently, the Joint Admission and Matricluation Board JAMB, announced the cancellation of the National cut-off mark, thereby empowering each of the tertiary institution across the country to decide on what will be their minimum cut-off mark.
However, it must be noted that the cut-off mark, will be a combination of JAMB score, University benchmark. SSCE result and practicals where applicable.
The combination of ordinary level result of each candidate and the UTME result, will earn each candidate a total of 40 and 60 percent respectively which amount to 100%.
The various institutions either the University , Polytechnic or the Colleges of Education will also add the practical scores where applicable in arriving at their individual cut-off mark.
Listed below are the scores alotted to the required 5 subjects a candidate must pass in the O' level and the JAMB UTME scores.
O'LEVEL RESULT: 40%
A1- 8% × 5 ---- 40%
B2 - 7% × 5 ---- 35%
B3 - 6% × 5 ---- 30%
C4 - 5% × 5 ---- 25%
C5 - 4% × 5 ---- 20%
C6 - 3% × 5 ---- 15%
JAMB UTME SCORES - 60%
180 -189 ---- 10%
190 - 199 ---- 20%
200 - 209 ---- 30%
210 - 219 ---- 40%
220 - 229 ---- 50%
230 - Above - 60%
