Good News For Candidates That Scored Less Than 100 In 2021 UTME

Candidates who scored below 100 in the 2021 Unified Tertiary Institutions Matriculation Examination (UTME) should not give up their hope of gaining admission into a public higher institution yet. There are some colleges of education that may admit such candidates this year. Some institutions may admit you irrespective of your UTME score provided you took part in the examination.

The first among such colleges of education is the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin (KWCOEILORIN). KWCOEILORIN is one of the colleges of education that belong to the government of Kwara State. According to post-UTME advert of the institution, candidates that scored 80 marks in the 2021 UTME are eligible to apply for NCE pre-admission screening. Such candidates should have four ordinary level credits (including English Language or Mathematics) at one sitting or five ordinary level credits at two sittings.

Another institution that is friendly to candidates with low UTME score is Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED), Otto/Ijanikin. This institution (formerly known as Lagos State College of Education) is one of the colleges of education owned by Lagos State Government. According to information obtained from the institution's website, the condition for admission is the participation of the candidate in 2021 UTME (irrespective of the score). Even if your score is 20, you can apply for admission into the NCE program of the college.

Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED) is one of the institutions that can admit candidates with extremely low UTME scores. MOCPED was founded by the Lagos State Government in 1994 under the name, Lagos State College of Primary Education (LACOPED), Epe. The institution was however rechristened in 2007. MOCPED now offers dozens of NCE courses. According to the college’s advert, any candidate that took part in 2021 UTME is eligible for admission.
