These 6 tools fall into three categories:
1. Headlines writing tools: Coschedule, AMV, and Sharethrough headline analyzers
Every writer recognizes the challenge that crafting a suitable headline for his article poses. The problem is not just in crafting what the writer feels is a suitable caption but in crafting one that would immediately arrest the attention of readers especially in this day and age where people’s attention span is very short. It could be a real dilemma.
You go online to read up materials on how to craft catchy headlines and after sifting through tons of materials, you come away even more confused. Yeah, every writer has once been there! The good news is that help is here for you now. With these three easy-to-use free tools, your days of struggling to write attention-grabbing headlines are over for good.
These tools are headline analyzers. They analyze your headlines to find out how much impact they would have on readers. We shall examine three of the best tools available for free online with an emphasis on their unique features. These are Coschedule Headline Analyzer, AMV Headline Analyzer, and Sharethrough Headline Analyzer.
Coschedule Headline Analyzer is an easy-to-use tool. All that you need to do is type in your headline in the space provided and click on the “Analyze Now” button. The portal will analyze your headline and present the results to you in a matter of seconds. Apart from the overall score, the tool also shows the percentage of common, uncommon, emotional, and power words in your headline. Coschedule Headline Analyzer
It gives you the keywords in your headline along with many other valuable data as well. The keywords are extremely important for your Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
You need to pay very close attention to the results to glean other important data from them that will help you arrive at that final catchy headline of your choice. Keep tweaking the headline until you are satisfied with the scores.
The AMV Headline Analyzer takes the analysis a few notches higher. Apart from showing your headline’s overall score, it also gives you some extra information about your caption.
AMV Headline Analyzer
The overall score is a measure of the Emotional Marketing Value (EMV) of your words. Alongside the overall score, the tool shows the predominant emotional classification of your headline which can either be intellectual, emotional, or spiritual. The tool also explains what each of these classifications means and the audience for which each is most suited.
The Sharethrough Headline Analyzer functions in much the same manner as the Coschedule analyzer.
2. SEO tools: KWFinder
After the Coschedule Headline Analyzer has given you the keywords in the headline of your content, it is now time to do some basic SEO. SEO is the process of making your content searchable and ranking high on search engines. One of the basic forms of SEO is keyword research and analysis.
This involves picking each of your keywords and checking them for how they how popular they are. Very searchable and popular keywords indicate that using them in your content will make it rank high on search engines. KWFinder is a very useful tool for keyword research and analysis.
3. Grammar-correcting and plagiarism-checking tools: Grammarly and Edubirdie
There are many tools available for free in this category. They include EduBirde, Grammarly, Copyscape, Plagiarisma, Turnitin, and many more. Grammarly used to be my favorite for correcting grammar and helping me to firm up my content. More so, it is a downloadable, easy-to-use, tool. Then I was using Edubirdie solely as a plagiarism checker.
However, I just discovered while preparing this piece that EduBirdie has incorporated the grammar-checking functionality into the tool. It now looks a more comprehensive tool than the free Grammarly, but it also appears just slightly more difficult to use than Grammarly. The free Grammarly does not incorporate a plagiarism-checker.
Apart from correcting your grammar, Grammarly rates the clarity, engagement, and delivery attributes of your content. It also gives you an overall readability score, which is an indication of how readable your content is considering the class of people that can readily understand it based on their level of education.
As you work on correcting the errors the tool highlight, you will see your scores improve in real-time.
These tools will make your content go viral if you use them right, I promise you.
In the course of preparing this piece I stumbled on a set of tools called, title generators. As the name indicates, they can automatically generate a caption for your content. I am yet to test and prove any of them. I promise that as soon as I do, I will let you know about them.
