Second semester exams in University of Jos has been suspended till further notice

Plateau State Government has declared a 24-hour curfew on Jos North Local Government Area, management of the University of Jos, following the security breach that occurred recently. This led to the suspension of the second semester examinations. The Vice Counselor of UNIJOS said "All examinations earlier scheduled for between Monday 16th and Saturday 21st, August 2021 have been suspended until further notice".

He further said in an interview that "All students of the university residing in hostels are to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary movements for their safety. The management is working tirelessly with security agencies and the state government to make sure students are safe.

The VC further said "students who stay off-campus are strongly advised to stay safe out there, they should be careful where they go to during this period of insecurity.

The staffs of the University and been ordered to stay at home due to the ongoing crisis and curfew. There are rumors that some students have lost their lives due to the killings.
