Academic Staff Union of secondary schools ASUSS have suggested a review of a new teaching scheme for a prospective teachers introduced by ogun state government.
Under ogun state teaching experience acquization scheme, the state government intends to fill vacancies in it's secondary schools with ogun teach applicants who will be paid a stipend for two years and those with excellent performance will be fully employed by the State Government.
Chairman of ASUSS in the state , comrade Akeem Lasisi in a letter to Governor Dapo Abiodun welcomes the initiative saying , it's a special intervention program, to create jobs for the Youths in the Education Sector but Lasisi suggested that the program should be a yearly Program and the beneficiary should be given full employment instead of the stipulated two years.
He also ask the state government to ensure that the screening of the applicants is devoid of political influence, so as to recruit the rightful candidate into the Education Sector.
He further stated that ASUSS support the scheme because it will help in reducing the excess work load of Teachers, introduced specialize and train individuals to curb death challenges being encountered in the system.
ASUSS also want the state government to Pay the arrears of leave allowances of teachers, bank loans and co-operative deductions from their salaries.
