Several students of the prestigious University of NigeriaNsukka (UNN) campus defiled the Covid-19 safety protocols to engage in a massive bonfire protest last night over the lack of some basic school amenities.
According to reports, students occupying a few hostels in the school (Nkrumah, Alvan and Eni-Njoku hostels) have been without light, water supply, internet connection and others necessities ever since they returned from the lockdown.
They have endured this unusual situation for nearly two weeks since the school resumed. But it seems they couldn't endure any longer because they need light for their exams which comes up next week.
So they decided to take the bull by the horn via their peaceful protest. A video posted on social media shows them shouting with a loud voice, calling on the authorities to provide a solution to the problem.
