Innovation Enterprise Institution (IEIs) are technical institutions that are licensed by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to award National Innovative Diploma (NID) and Higher National Innovative Diploma (HNID). According to information obtained from NBTE, Nigeria currently has 169 IEIs. Eleven of them received their accreditations in 2021. Let us take a look at the IEIs that received operational approval this year.
Softquest Incorporated College (SQI), Ogbomoso is established by Adeyemi Christopher Aderinto who is an Information Communication Technology (ICT) consultant. SQI is one of the three IEIs that were accredited in September, 2021. It has accreditation to award NID in Software Engineering Technology and Hardware Engineering Technology.
Mastermind Catering and Culinary Institute (MCCI) was established by Khadijat Abiose Fashina in 2018. The institution which is located in Gwarimpa, Abuja. This month (September), the institution received approval of NBTE to award NID in Hospitality.
African College of Agriculture, Vocational and Technical Studies (ACAVATS) is the IEI that received operational approval in September, 2021. The CEO of ACAVATS is Mrs Mariam Bolarinwa Ajipe while the rector is Professor Timothy Olatunji Sunday. The institution which is located in Akure, Ondo State is scheduled to begin academic activities in November, 2021.
Asteven Renewable Energy Academy was licensed by NBTE in July, 2021 to award NID in Solar Energy Technology. The institution is located in Ogun State.
Grajos College of Mass Communication and Management Technology is located in Alagbado, Lagos State. The two NBTE accredited programs in the college are Broadcast Journalism and Multimedia Technology.
PAN Learning Centre is owned by Peugeot Automobile Nigeria. The institution received NBTE approval to award NID in July, 2021. The accredited programs are Software Engineering Technology, Welding and Fabrication, Hardware Engineering Technology and Automotive Mechatronics.
Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) is a federal government owned IEI located in Zaria, Kaduna State. The Director General of NITT is Dr Bello Salih-Farah. The institution received approval to award NID in July, 2021.
Imperial College of Advance Studies is located in Kano State. The institution was formally established in 2017 but received NBTE approval in July, 2021. The accredited NID programs in the school are Banking Operations, Computer Software Technology, Film and Television Production, Paralegal Studies, Networking and System Security, Multimedia Technology and Building Technology.
Nation Builders College of Technology (NABCOTECH) is located in Asaba, Delta State. The institution was established in 2018 and commenced academic programs in 2021 NABCOTECH which belongs to the Christ Holy Church International however received NBTE approval in May, 2011. The current rector of the IEI is Professor Williams Emeka Obiozor.
Elerinmosa Institute of Technology (EIT) is located in Erin-Osun, Osun State. The institution which was formally established in 2017 belongs Alhaji (Engr.) Hassan U. Alao who is the Chaurman of Sidmach Technologies Limited. The institution was licensed to operate as an IEI in May, 2021.
El-Academy was founded in 2011 by Chima Nwankwo. The institution however officially became an IEI in May, 2021. The accredited NID programs in the institution are Computer software Engineering Technology and Computer Networking and System Security.
