The fate of the Nigerian student remains unknown as the crises caused by the novel corona virus is not only making them stay at home for one full year, but also the non agreement between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) keeps making any hope of ever resuming this year almost impossible.
There were reports recently that ASUU chairman Professor Biodun Ogunyemi had advised the Federal government not to open up schools until next year because of the corona virus pandemic in the country except its safe to do so. The Chairman however, on a report on ASUU official page on twitter added again that should the government even decide to open up schools, that the universities may not reopen until the agreement they had with the Federal Government are met.
Many Nigerian students were angry with that as it seem to them that the union are only fighting for their own interest and not that of the students. Another says she's dropped school and have decided to become a fulltime seamstress since its obvious schools aren't resuming anytime soon.
