Sars-cov-2 as it is called has caused school students in Nigeria and many other countries to stay indoor for close to 5 months now, with no Hope of seeing the walls of the school throughout the year, 2020.
Reserving life is one reason why the government is doing everything possible to make sure that no or less people are infected with the virus because more infected persons will result to more death and cause more sorrow in hearts of many citizens.
President Buhari through his selected presidential Task force committee on Covid-19 and Governors of the 36 States in Nigeria joined with minister of Federal Capital territory (FCT), is working hard to bring down the rate curve of the pandemic and in doing so, he closed schools in March in other to preserve Lives of young people.
Now, almost all the students are tired of staying home. They are calling on the federal Government to reopen schools.
The Federal Government on hearing the outcry ordered the quick resumption of schools for people in Exam Classes which makes up people in Junior secondary school 3, Senior secondary school 3 and primary 6 pupil to help them in preparing for their exams.
Few days after making the plan, the presidential task force went back to say that there will be no school resumption for the main time on account that is not still safe to open schools.
“Until we can guarantee the safety of children from COVID-19, our schools cannot resume. We will provide guidelines for the safe re-opening of schools” ~ Hon Emeka Nwajiuba, Minister of State for Education of Nigeria said.
They decision was due to that the ministry of Education has not put things in place that Everyone will hold on to as a preventive measures while going for classes.
On July 13, a progress in reopening of school was recorded as the Ministry release "52 GUIDELINES FOR SAFE REOPENING OF SCHOOLS AND LEARNING FACILITIES".
School owners, teachers and Principals of Education were ordered to get those guidelines issued by the Ministry and start making preparation with the Guild on the 52 text pages.
The above mentioned move is a prove that the Ministry of education are really considering the opening of school before the month of August will collapse.
Once those Guidelines are put in place by school owners and teachers before the end of July, the Ministry have no choice than to reopen schools in August while making sure that the guidelines are maintained for safety of students against the Virus.
In accord with that, Nigerian Students should start doing something as a guild step while waiting for the month of August, possible month of resumption.
Students in secondary schools, primary and High institutions should Dust their Books and start reading in other not to be taken by surprise.
Because once the announcement is made, Exam follows at Once.
