Governor Udom Emmanuel and Akwa Ibom State University have been under intense criticism from both friends and allies for expelling Mr iniobong Ekpo, a final year student of Akwa Ibom State University for allegedly insulting the Governor (visitor to the university), an action the management termed breach of Mr iniobong's matriculation oath.
Recall that Mr iniobong Ekpo, a final year student of Agricultural Engineering, was last month expelled from the only state owned University.
The student had made a post through his Facebook page reminding Governor Udom Emmanuel of his inability to redeem his pledge of employing first class graduates of the institution as well as giving them N100,000 each, as promised.
This decision from the school didn't go down well with many, especially Barr. Inibehe Effiong who promised to challenge the decision of the school in court if he wasn't reinstated back into the university.
Recall that Governor Udom after so much pressure had to write through his commissioner of education, stating unequivocally that he wasn't apprise of the expulsion of Mr Iniobong Ekpo.
A committee was immediately set up to review the process. After series of meetings, Governor Udom Emmanuel on Thursday ordered immediate Reinstatement of Mr Iniobong Ekpo.
The reinstatement order came from the state enlarged exco meeting which was presided over by HE, Governor Udom Emmanuel
