JAMB: Any Candidate Who Have Chosen This Subject Combination May not be Eligible to Write Exam

This is an urgent issue which every candidate need to know about. I quickly found out some mistakes candidates are making which may stop them from taking exam. Anyone reading this information should helpfully share it with other candidates. Today 19th of April, I had a phone conversation with a man at CBT center in Katsina state. He was asking about right subject combination for science courses. Then I asked him what happened. He said many of the candidates at the center do not know the right subject combination. Some of them were busy checking subject brochure. From inquiries below are some details;

1. Wrong subject combination with O'Level result; your O'Level subjects must match with that of your Utme. For instance, a candidate's O'Level subjects are science; Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Biology and Geography. Then Utme subjects must include 4 which are English, Physics, Biology and Geography. This is a typical recommendation of subject combination. Anything else from this will lead to ineligibility of writing exam.

2. Wrong combination with Foreign and Local Languages; candidates who are willing to include French, Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa languages must take their time to study the JAMB brochure well. Any science student must avoid adding any of these languages to subject combination. This was because pure science courses have nothing to do with language. Candidates who have made such mistake are advised to make corrections. Remember that JAMB will not be held responsible for your misinformation or wrong subject combination.

These are difficulties candidates are facing and others need to be informed about it.

Tips to avoid such issues;

A. Read JAMB thoroughly JAMB brochure for 2021. It is attached to JAMB paper slip.

B. Research well on the type of institution you applied for. Brochure for UMYU Katsina state is different from that of UNILAG.

Thanks for reading, please share this information with others candidates.
