The Story Of Madam Koi-Koi, The Most Feared Woman In Boarding Schools

No one knows exactly when the story started but the story of a ghost female teacher with red high heels has haunted boarding schools in Nigeria for decades. This is the legend of Madam Koi-Koi. There are several stories but this is the most popular one.

According to this Nigerian folktale, there was once a very beautiful female teacher in a boarding school whose beauty caught everyone's attention. She was called "Madam Koi-Koi" because she often wore a pair of red high-heel shoes which made a "koi-koi" sound wherever she walked.

It was also said that she was very nasty to students and would beat them up for no reason. You could say she was hated. Students despised her as she was said to be very cruel and would often hit them with wooden rulers. Soon, they began to plot her dismissal.

In one version of the story, parents asked the school authorities to dismiss Madam Koi-Koi after she injured a student. On her way home, Madam Koi-Koi was involved in a fatal accident. However, before she died, she swore to have her revenge on the school and its students.Soon after, students at the school began to hear the "koi-koi" sound of her shoes down the hallways of their dormitories after the lights went out.

Till date, it is said that Madam Koi-Koi comes out at night to haunt students in boarding schools. The stories have gone beyond one secondary school to other secondary schools in Nigeria. Some students have also claimed to have seen her red shoes walking around their school grounds without anyone wearing them.

What do you think of the tale of Madam Koi-Koi? Is there really a story about the ghost of a female teacher haunting students or is this a tale made up by teachers to discourage students from wandering during lights out?
