Daniel Kemebradikumo pondie hails from Bayelsa state, in the Niger delta region of Nigeria.
Pondei is the current acting managing director of Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC.
He was appointed by the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari on 19 February 2020.
Pondei attended Federal Government College, Port Harcourt for his secondary education.
He then went further to study medicine and surgery at University of Lagos.
He attended University of Nottingham where he received his doctorate degree in Microbiology.
Professor Pondei started his career as a lecturer in 2001 at the Niger Delta University.
He was the acting head of department HOD of medical microbiology and parasitology
He was also the acting dean of faculty of basic medical sciences at College of Health Sciences, Niger Delta University.
He served as the chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, Bayelsa State.
Pondie became a professor of medical microbiology and served as the provost of College of Health Sciences, Niger Delta University.
On 19 February 2020, the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari appointed Daniel Pondei as the acting managing director of Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC to replace Joi Nunieh.
