The government of Ondo State begun the distribution of appointment letters to teachers are newly recruited in the state. The teachers are employed under the the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). According to Olatunde Richard, the Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, the distribution began on Friday, March 13.

Olatunde Richard added that the successful applicants were selected based on their performance in the online examinations conducted last year. The questions were structured to ensured that the best brains are recruited from the thousands of applicants. Modalities for the assumption of duty are included in their appointment letters
The last recruitment of teachers was conducted more than thirteen years ago under the Olusegun Agagu administration. Governor Rotimi Akeredolu had earlier assured his administration would employ teachers to fill vacant positions in all the schools across the state. This will help to reduce the extreme dearth of teachers in the public schools belonging to the state government.
