This is a good development in the state. Many pupils play all day long during this pandemic period. If this continue to happen, the educational standard of the state would be at a very low ebb.
As a result of this, the Executive chairman, Oyo state Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, said, the learning was in line with the promise made by the state Governor in curbing the negative impact of COVID - 19 on education in the state.
The government tagged the interactive learning as ' Oyo SUBEB learning on air' which would take place on Oluyole 95.5 FM. Simulcast would be made on air on Oke - Ogun 96.3 FM and Ajilete 92.1 FM.
The broadcasts of the program would be made thus:
Mondays at 10 a.m and 4.05 p.m;
Tuesdays 10.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m;
Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and 4.05 p.m,
Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.;
Fridays at 10 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Saturdays at 12: 09pm and 5: 00pm
Saturday section would be an interactive one where students would be able to ask questions from what they have learnt from previous days.
The Executive chairman went further, the program would only be aired on Monday - Saturday except Sunday. The broadcast would be aired twice a day for proper awareness, he added.
We can't allow our pupils to waste their time at home without doing nothing. Its high time to keep them busy. We don't want COVID - 19 to affect our pupils educationally. So this strategic program would go a long way in curbing the negative impact of COVID - 19 on our educational system, he said.
Mr. Adeniran urged all parent and wards to take this strategic program so serious and encourage their children to participate greatly in the program. All hand must be on deck. The government can not do it alone., he added.
