Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, The Minister of state for Education has said the ministry has decided to meet with the rest four countries that are participating in the Senior School Certificate Examination to decide a new date, the countries are Gambia, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Liberia.
This is because the new date that was announced on Friday caused controversy and it needs a good planning to fix a perfect and comfortable date.
If we can recall, the Federal Government also took a good step by giving schools at all level in the country the 29th of July as deadline to meet up with the conditions and requirements to reopen schools, after the date the federal government will meet with the be necessary stakeholders to review if the conditions are met.
I hope the schools will be able to meet up, some of the guidelines given by the federal government says there must be an ambulance with testing centres available in the school premises.
Training the teachers and other personnel on safety and hygiene measures, decongesting classrooms, hostels, worship centres and other spaces; encouraging use of open spaces for gathering and promoting outdoor activities, sanitation and hygiene facilities across the school premises with enough water.
We hope the schools meet up with the requirements, failure to do will lead to the suspension of resumption of schools Justifying the Minister of Education idea, Adamu Adamu who said it should be suspended.
