One of the reasons why many people will not be admitted this year despite scoring far higher than the cut off mark is wrong subject combination.
Universities have a guideline for list of subjects and possible combinations Candidates interested in various courses should sit for at the UTME (jamb examination).
If you applied for a particular course and you made a mistake replacing a particular subject needed for the course with another subject, you did have issues in terms of admission because of wrong subject combination.
Jamb provided the jamb brochure to ensure candidates do not make such a mistake but every year candidates still make the same mistake.
The truth is that a candidate cannot be admitted to study a course that he/she does not have the right UTME/O'level combination for.
The question now is what can a candidate who chose a wrong subject combination do to secure admission?
solution to wrong subject combination
The only solution to wrong subject combination after jamb examination is to change your course to the one that matches the subject combination that you have already selected.
Before you change your course, however, go through the jamb brochure to ensure the course you want to change to matches the subject combination you already have, to avoid making the same mistake twice.
