1) Buhari approves payments of stipends and automatic employment for Education students.

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has approved the payment of stipends to Bachelor of Education students, as well as granting them automatic employment after graduation.

This was made known by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, who represented Buhari at the World Teachers Day celebration which was held in Abuja. According to Adamu Adamu, the Federal Government is committed to making the educational sector in Nigeria one of the best in the world. Furthermore, he also affirmed that Buhari has promised low-cost housing for teachers in rural areas, automatic employment for Education students in the universities, and college of Education among other things.

2) FG to Probe SARS

According to the Nations Newspaper, the Federal Government is set to launch an investigative panel that'll checkmate the activities of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS).

The new development was a result of the recent outcries and campaigns by Nigerians for the government to disband the police unit following their extrajudicial killings, harassment, extortion, and violation of the right of the citizens.

According to the Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi, all victims of FSARS’ nefarious activities will get justice while offending officers will be dealt with.

3) IMT resumption date has finally been announced. 

Students of the prestigious Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, finally will be going back to school as the management has issued a new date for resumption.

According to a press release by the registrar of the institute, Dr. Mrs. Ijeoma C. Aneke, Students are to resume back for academic activities on Monday, 12th of October, 2020. The institute among several others in the country has been closed for months following the FG guidelines to ensure the safety of students from the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to this, several other State/Federal Universities and college of education have also announced their respective resumption date for academic activities.
