The Nigeria student has lunched an online thread on Twitter to protest the closure of school. The student started the safe protest with the hashtag #SAVE NIGERIAN STUDENT, the protest was for the safe reopening of school.
We can all recall that the federal government of Nigeria initiate a lockdown on Academic activities in March, this was after the outbreak of COVID19 in the country.
The lockdown was part of the measure to prevent community spreading of the deadly Corona virus.
So many safety measures as being put in place to make the environment and citizen safe from the spread of the virus, but one of the areas still affected by the effect of COVID19 is closure of schools.
All other sectors of the Nigeria economy are beginning to resume operations, the markets are back open, the commercial sector is back, aviation sector is partially running a local operation, the religious house have also being approve to run except for some state, but the government still insist the environment is not safe for the graduating student to go back to school for their exams.
This action made the Nigeria student to go on an online safe protest for the safe reopening of Schools, here are some screenshots from the thread on Twiiter.
On my opinion I think the government should try and put on a safe measure for the return of Academic calender, because the COVID19 doesn't seems to be over yet and the schools can't be on a total lockdown for long, this is because of the psychological health of the student.
