200 Level Student works in a construction site to support her schooling

Nigerians are not known for being lazy. They are very hardworking and in many cases there are good hustlers.

A young lady by the name Jennifer Okuro in an interview with BBC Pidgin shared her ordeal. The 20 year old and 200 level Finance student said she ventured into carrying sand in a construction site just to support her education financially and to reduce the burden on her parents. According to her, because it is not illegal and is not connected to crime, she is happy getting her "urgent 2k" from the construction site. She said she doesn't feel any form of shame and she is happy doing it.

Jennifer receives as high as 4000 Naira sometimes and she said that sometimes her friends laugh at her for doing "legbuke" (unskilled construction site worker) work. But she is not concerned because it is paying her bills especially textbooks and handouts in school.

As a young lady, you would agree with me that she is a strong person. It is very rare to see young people especially women indulge in such hard labour. You will agree with me that she deserves to be supported.

Thumbs up to her and other hardworking ladies out there. Share your thoughts in the comments session and don't forget to like, share and follow me for more interesting entertainment updates.
