ASUU posted this on their twitter account explaining the Reasons why they may not open the universities soon as required but the Federal government.
If you can remember just recently, the federal Government urged school officials in Nigeria to come up with a safety that will ensure the safety of childrends and students after schools are reopened Nationwide. Below are screenshot of Twitter posts by ASUU on the issues:
heh
e Schools officials which includes vice chancellors are given an ultimatum of 29 July to come up with plans to ensure that safety but suddenly ASUU came up with their reasons not reopen Universities and their reason is beyond COVID-19 as they have an ongoing talk with the government about the walfare of Universities in the Country.
ASUU explained that they cant open universities now because there no enough lectures rooms and theatres to practice social distancing which among the precautionary measures to prevent COVID-19.
There more reason why ASUU may not respond to the school reopening issue especially the ongoing strike due to the inability of Federal government to meet their demands.
This mean student may lost a complete academic year. What is your opinion on this
