JAMB Releases 2021 UTME Results, Withholds Some Results For Further Review

The Joint Admissions and Matriculated Board, JAMB, has said that it has released the UTME results for candidates that sat for the examination between June and June 22 in over 720 CBT centres across the nation.

The board stated that some results were withheld for further scrutiny to detect possible examination malpractice.

Dr. Fabian Benjami, the board's spokesperson, made the disclosure on Friday 25 June, 2021.

Benjamin advised affected candidates to check their results by sending 'UTMERESULTS' to 55019 via the phone number they used to obtain profile code and effect UTME registration.

He said candidates would receive their results once they follow the steps aforementioned, while saying that results for subsequent days would be released daily.

He lauded the introduction of the National Identity Number (NIN), in the registration process, as it has helped reduced cases of examination malpractices, with the board recording the least cases of examination infractions, since the launch of NIN by JAMB.

He pointed out that few results were withheld for further scrutiny, as CCTV and other gadgets would still be review to detect possible breach of examination ethics.

He warned that the board reserved the rights to reverse the results of any candidates found culpable of any examination offences.

On the issues of candidates affected in the event of some CBT centres being delisted for poor performances, Benjamin said plans are on ground to conduct mop-up examination for the affected candidates who could not sit for the examination as scheduled, and those who had issues registering for the examination. He added that about 95% of the candidates for the 2021 UTME, met the NIN compulsory requirements.
