Examination

Admission will be difficult for JAMB candidates in 2021 if schools don't resume this year(Opinion)

JAMB(Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board) is a body that conducts preliminary exams for students seeking admission into universities in Nigeria.

The examination has been conducted this year and a total of 1.9 million students sat for the exam. Students have been able to check their results but they've not been able to continue with other required examinations like Post UTME because of the outbreak of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

It's been months since the examination was written but students have not been able to process their admission because of the lockdown in the country.

JAMB registers over a million students each year but not all of the candidates who pass the exam and score above the required get admitted into the University. Considering the fact that universities might not be able to resume this year, it'll be very hard for most students to secure admission into the University because many other students will register for the exam next year and compete with the students who have already written their exams this year. Admission will also be so difficult because there will too many candidates and universities won't be able to accommodate a large number of students. In my humble opinion, the only way out this is the reopening of schools nationwide.
