A Nigerian Becomes VC of Leeds Trinity University, United Kingdom

A Nigerian-born alumnus and senior lecturer at Leads Trinity University, Professor Charles Egbu has been appointed the Vice Chancellor of this great Institution.

Prof. Charles is yet to assume office as the appointment will take effect starting from the 1st of November, 2020. This was announced on the institution’s website.

As a former Pro Vice Chancellor for Education and Experience at the University of East London, Professor Charles boasts of over 25 years of higher education administration. This makes him capable and suitable for the new appointment.

He has served in different administrative offices in various institutions and has acquired experience over the years. Prof. Charles was once a Dean, School of Built Environment and Architecture at London South Bank University. He also held other post at the University College London, Glasgow Caledonian University and Leeds Beckett University.

In his acceptance speech, Prof. Charles said, “ I am honored to be joining Leeds Trinity, a University whose values and ethos around widening participation, offering a personalized approach, and encouraging all students to achieve their best, align with my own.”

Professor Charles Egbu is a Nigrian who hails from Idemili LGA of Anambra State.
