216 Bag First Class Degrees As A Total Of 1681 Candidates Graduate From Covenant University

216 Graduate with First Class Degree as a total of 1681 students graduate with first degree and higher degree in the 16th Convocation.

The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Covenant University, Professor Abiodun Adebayo, gave his welcome speech during the occasion as he disclosed the number of graduates.

The VC said that 1400 candidates bagged their first degrees and 281 candidates made higher degrees.

He added that 216, which is 15.4% of the graduates made First Class, 719 graduates made Upper Class division which is 51%, 435 made Second Class lower, which is 31.1% of the graduates and 30 graduates made Third Class which is 2.1% of the total graduates.

Favour Asaka from the Department of Computer Science emerged as the best graduating student with cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 5.00.

Blessing Jimoh from Chemical Engineering had a CGPA of 4.93 and Eunice Ojutiku of the Department of Economics also had CGPA of 4.93.

The Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedepo, urged the graduates of the University not to think of themselves but how to add value, create jobs and other good things that will be helpful to mankind.
