Profile of Acting NDDC Boss, Pondei, Who Collapsed, During Live TV Interrogation

Meet Kemebradikumo Daniel Pondei

Mr. Pondei is a professor of microbiology and he is from Bayelsa state.

He is the current acting managing director of Niger Delta Development Commission.

He was appointed director of the commission by the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari on 19 February 2020.

According to Wikipedia, Pondei attended Federal Government College, Port Harcourt for his secondary education.

After his graduation from secondary school, he proceeded to the prestigious University of Lagos where he studied medicine and surgery. He moved on to University of Nottingham where he got his doctorate degree in Microbiology.

When he returned to Nigeria after his studies abroad, he got his first appointment in 2001 as a lecturer. He was later appointed as the acting head of department of medical microbiology and parasitology before he served as acting dean of faculty of basic medical sciences at College of Health Sciences, Niger Delta University.

He was once the chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, Bayelsa State. Pondei did not rest on his oars as he Later became a professor of medical microbiology and served as the provost of College of Health Sciences, Niger Delta University.

He took over from Joi Nunieh on 19 February 2020, as the Acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission.

Today, Mr Pondei is in the news for bad reasons.

He collapsed and fainted on Monday, during a interrogation of his activities as the Acting Managing Director of NDDC.
