LATEST: Tertiary Institutions Won't Resume Even If FG Reopens Schools - ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had revealed that the tertiary institutions may not reopen even when the federal government orders the reopening of schools across the country, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was revealed by ASUU president, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi, during an interview with a media outfit, on Sunday, and he also told the federal government not to reopen schools I'm the schools until 2021.

Recall that the federal government had ordered the closure of schools nationwide on 19th March, prior to the outbreak of the deadly virus, coronavirus pandemic and also as a means to curb the further spread of the deadly virus.

Also, recall that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), had been on indefinite strike, which is still on.

The strike was prior yo the fact that the federal government withhold the salaries of its members who defied the order of government to enrol in the Integrated Personal and Payroll System (IPPIS).
