Opinion: Don't study these six courses in the University, it is a waste of time

If you are a student or an aspirant in Lagos, then this message is for you.

As a result of the strict and difficult educational requirements, it is possible for some students to get frustrated and therefore go with any course they are offered. Many people don't even have plans of using their degree after school. If you are in Nigeria then you can relate to this. Many people just want to go to school so that they won't be tagged as illiterates by the society.

There is so many more opportunities attached to going to school apart from just obtaining a degree. By going to school, you get exposed to the outside world and you get to meet and interact with different people of different status. School is a good opportunity to network and make reasonable and useful friends. Also, going to school prepares you mentally for challenges that you might face later in life. It will change the way you look at things and help you to reason better and make smarter decisions.

Many people in a hurry to enter school and be amongst their peers, end up choosing courses that they didn't even plan for, especially because they couldn't meet up with the requirements for their desired course.

Today I will be sharing with you six courses that you shouldn't study in the University because it doesn't offer much opportunities for you particularly here in Nigeria.

1.Sociology:I really don't even know what that course is all about. I have not heard of when someone with a degree in sociology was employed in a big company or got a well paying job.

2.Igbo education :It is very funny and unimaginable that someone will actually decide to spend about four or five years to study this. Except you truly desire to teach the language in a school, don't waste your precious time.

3.Fishery:Yes,there are students studying this, actual human beings. It is not going to get you a good paying job. Although there is a good chance that you might actually be able to do something with this if you end up getting a farm.

4.Music:I can comfortably tell you that most of the popular and most richest musicians in Nigeria didn't study music.Even if you finish with a first class, you will still need good connection and you will have to do a lot before you can make a living out of this.

5. Theatre arts:Most influential and well known media and entertainment personalities didn't study theatre arts before they into the industry. All you need to do is to be unique, groom yourself, get connection and build your talent.

6.English language :If you must study any language, it should be a foreign one like Russia, French, Spanish and the rest that are most likely to give you good jobs like that of an ambassador.
