JAMB candidates find combining O'level results confusing during their registration processes. Many are not sure if the school they have chosen will accept the combination of O'level results.
Candidate can use two O'level results when he or she does not pass all the required subjects for the course he or she has chosen. In the case of not passing all the required subjects, candidate is allowed to sit for another O'level examination in order to complete the remaining required subject (s) for the course.
The three examination bodies that are recognized when it comes to managing O'level examinations in Nigeria are :
- The West African Examination Council (WAEC)
- National Examination Council (NECO)
- National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB)
One thing JAMB candidates should know is that almost all institutions accept two O'level results. This means that candidate can use two O'level results like WAEC and WAEC, NECO and WAEC, NECO and NECO, NABTEB and WAEC and so on depending on the examinations the candidate has written.
Combining of O'level results should not exceed two sittings. Candidate should also take note of the requirement of the institution they have chosen because some institutions do not accept two O'level results for some courses like Pharmacy, Medicine and Surgery, Law and so on.
