About 40 Percent Intending Lawyers Failed Bar Final Examination

1561 intending lawyers sat for their Bar final exams in December 2020.


880 candidates were said to have been successful and the other 628 students failed the examination according to Prof Chiroma, the Director-General of the Nigerian Law School.

Four students admitted into the Bar were from the previous Bar final examination.


The successful candidates were confirmed as lawyers during day one of the Calls to Bar Ceremony.


He declared that from now on, Law graduates of the National Open University of Nigeria(NOUN) would be permitted to do special remedial courses at the Nigeria Law School.


Also added is that the Council of Legal Education, Nigeria Law School has been receiving commendations from stakeholders and the general public for giving admissions to Law graduates of NOUN for the special remedial courses.


Chairman of Body of Benchers, Justice Olabode Rhodes-Vivour, beseech the new wigs to always uphold the doctrines of the rule of law wherever they found themselves.

And as members of a learned and noble profession, they will be needed to carry out their duties professionally.

He sincerely congratulated all the new wigs and formally addresses them as learned Friends.
