NASU, SSANU Extend Ongoing Strike By Two Months

The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU)and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) of Education and Allied Institutions said that they have extended the ongoing strike by another two months.

A statement made available on Wednesday which was signed by Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim, the National President, and Mr. Peter Adeyemi, the General Secretary, revealed the development.

It partly reads that the government is still far from resolving the issues with them effectively and it is crucial for the union to ext Ed the ongoing industrial action so that the process will be concluded before the strike ends.

Consequently, the union is informing the members the strike has been extended by two months in which they hope that the contentions between the Federal Government and the union will be resolved effectively. The extension takes effect from Friday the 24th of June 2022.

NASU and SSANU started the warning strike on March 27th, 2022, and have kept extending it as the FG is yet to meet its demands.
