Here is When WAEC Examinations in Nigeria Will Hold

The Commissioner for Education in Imo State, Prof. B.T.O Ikegwuoha, has revealed that schools in Nigeria Will be going ahead with their WAEC Examinations.

This is coming after the federal government cancelled WAEC exams in Nigeria as a result of the corona virus pandemic.

Prof. Ikegwuoha, during an audience participatory programme of the Heartland Radio, "Issues of the Moment ", where he revealed that the government is trying to safely open schools for the WAEC exams.

He revealed that there measures that should be applied for the safety of students, and they are as follows:

- Parents must provide their wards with masks.

- Parents and Teachers Associated (P.T.A) should be resuscitated to make sure that needed guidelines are enforced by both parties.

- Students must observe social distancing to avoid spreading the virus.

- Students must wash their hands always to avoid contracting the virus.

Professor Ikegwuoha has revealed that the federal government has agreed to postpone the exams from August 4th to September 5th.

This is coming after Nigerians took to social media to trend "#FreeNigerianStudents" because of federal government's refusal to re-open schools nationwide.

They argued that if people can go to work, go the market and even go to the polling units to vote, then people can also go to school.
